Do you know your rights?
South Africa has one of the best Constitutions in the world, which includes our Bill of Rights – the cornerstone of our democracy, granting every person human dignity, equality and freedom.
Any changes to the articles in our Constitution must be approved by a two-thirds majority in Parliament.
The Constitution is the supreme law of the Republic of South Africa. This means that laws contradicting the Constitution are unconstitutional and can be challenged in court.
We know that human rights violations occur every day, even by the people who are supposed to protect us.
So arm yourself with knowledge. What are your rights in South Africa?
